What do you know about the Blue plaques all over England?

A blue plaque is a permanent sign installed in a public place in the United Kingdom and elsewhere to commemorate a link between that location and a famous person or event, serving as a historical marker. The world's first blue plaques were erected in London in the 19th century to mark the homes and workplaces of famous people. This original scheme across the United Kingdom was administered by English Heritage from 1986, but was temporarily closed to new suggestions in 2013 owing to a lack of funding.

The London-wide blue plaques scheme has been running for over 140 years, and now comprises around 850 plaques.

I believe the blue plaques inspired the Hollywood walk of fame and other similar heroic acknowledgements.
