A message was sent clearly and loudly to Ke$ha this weekend: the show must not go on. The eccentric singer was forced to cancel a concert in Malaysia because authorities deemed her antics, songs and attire as too racy for that nation's conservative norms - and Ke$ha was far from happy about it. "To be clear. I did NOT cancel," she Tweeted soon afterward. "I was not allowed to play. and then I was going to play anyways and was threatened with imprisonment." It's unclear, however, why Ke$ha didn't send the ghosts from her vagina in as a threat to those in charge. Promoters for the event tell CNN they they tried to comply with Malaysian rules, working with the singer to "modify the show to suit the Malaysian culture and sensitivities, including having made adjustments to her song lyrics, wardrobe changes, and a set list that was modified to specifically adhere to the guidelines set forth by the authorities." They lost $350,000 on the cancelation. This is not the first time an American singer has run into a problem in Malaysia. The country's second largest political party protested Adam Lambert's appearance there in 2011, while radio stations there were ordered to play a tame version of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" because its lyrics were
considered too gay.
